Altre informazioni | I non frequentanti dovranno aggiungere al programma tutto l'ultimo capitolo del volume. |
Programma del corso | Obiettivo del corso è quello di definire il dibattito storico e critico sulle arti figurative attraverso le principali fonti letterarie d'argomento storico-artistico dall'Antichità al XIX secolo. Partendo dalle prime testimonianze comparse in epoca greca e romana, si attraverseranno i secoli e si potrà cogliere l'evoluzione delle tecniche, degli stili, così come del gusto e della società, analizzando testi di artisti, teorici, letterati, poeti, scrittori, critici e figure religiose. I testi saranno letti e commentati durante le lezioni e inseriti sempre all'interno del rispettivo contesto storico, sociale, economico e culturale. |

Prerequisites | In order to take the exam, a basic knowledge of the history of art from Antiquity to the 19th century is also required. |

Course Syllabus | The aim of the course is to define the historical and critical debate on the figurative arts through the main literary sources on the historical-artistic topic from Antiquity to the 19th century. Starting from the first testimonies that appeared in Greek and Roman times, we will cross the centuries and it will be possible to grasp the evolution of techniques, styles, as well as of taste and society, analyzing texts by artists, theorists, men of letters, poets, writers, critics and religious figures. The texts will be read and commented on during the lessons and always placed within the respective historical, social, economic and cultural context. |
