Il corso si struttura partendo dal libro geografia del turismo e affronta: il fenomeno turistico dal prototurismo al turismo globale; il turismo attuale con soggetti, territori, modalità organizzative e criticità; i modelli territoriali delle aree turistiche, in Italia e nel mondo; il paesaggio turistico, il suo consumo e le iniziative di rottamazione-riqualificazione.

Si articola in due parti:
- I concetti base e l’evoluzione del turismo
- Il paesaggio turistico e le iniziative di rottamazione-riqualificazione.

1. Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione - Lo studente dovrà dimostrare di avere compreso in modo sufficiente gli argomenti del programma; dovrà dimostrare di avere compreso il turismo e il suo rapporto col territorio, il paesaggio e i principi della CEP 2000.

2. Conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate - Attraverso gli strumenti cognitivi e i metodi d’indagine propri alla geografia umana, lo studente dovrà acquisire consapevolezza del ruolo assunto dalle attività connesse al turismo: nei diversi modi del suo attuarsi; nella evoluzione delle economie alle scale regionali, nazionali ed internazionali; nelle dinamiche innescate nei paesaggi culturali e umani alle diverse scale; nelle dinamiche imposte dagli equilibri ambientali.
Lo studente dovrà conoscere le principali aree di sviluppo turistico alla scala globale; le principali metodologie di analisi territoriale propedeutiche a individuare paesaggi cui corrispondere spazi di sviluppo turistico. Arrivando a individuare possibili interventi volti alla razionalizzazione dei processi ai fini della sostenibilità ambientale, con riferimento allo spazio geografico italiano ed estero (casi di studio).

3. Autonomia di giudizio - Lo studente dovrà dimostrare di avere consapevolezza del proprio livello di conoscenza e delle proprie capacità.

4. Abilità comunicative - Lo studente dovrà essere in grado di esporre in maniera adeguata quanto appreso frontalmente e attraverso la partecipazione a seminari, sopralluoghi, conferenze sul tema oggetto della disciplina.

5. Capacità di apprendere - Lo studente dovrà dimostrare di aver compreso e valutato criticamente: il rapporto domanda-offerta turistica, la programmazione e lo sviluppo in senso turistico di aree determinate, la sostenibilità ambientale ed economica del turismo. Dovrà dimostrare di aver acquisito tutte le nozioni necessarie per intraprendere gli studi successivi.

Principali concetti del turismo e dei beni culturali.

Lezioni frontali (n. ore 48) soggette a valutazione in aula con prove intercorso o esercitazioni. Partecipazione a convegni, conferenze, seminari o escursioni didattiche da valutare.

La frequenza è consigliata, in quanto in alcune lezioni sarà previsto il coinvolgimento in aula di esperti disponibili a stimolare la riflessione.

Il programma delle lezioni in aula potrà parzialmente discostarsi rispetto al contenuto del libro di testo.

Il materiale integrativo o sostitutivo sarà fornito dalla docente durante il corso.

1-2 prove intercorso orali non vincolanti ai fini dell'esame finale.

Le prove d'esame:
IN PRESENZA
- se il numero di studenti è > 10 è prevista una prova scritta consistente in tre domande aperte;
- se il numero di studenti è < 10 è previsto un colloquio orale articolato in tre (o più se necessarie) domande sugli argomenti dell'insegnamento, atto ad accertare il livello di conoscenze raggiunto.

Il voto finale (ottenuto dalla media dei voti dei tre moduli) sarà calcolato in base ai seguenti criteri di valutazione:
- Mancato superamento dell’esame: il candidato non raggiunge alcun obiettivo formativo;
- Da 18 a 20: Livello appena sufficiente. Il candidato raggiunge solo i risultati previsti al punto “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”;
- Da 21 a 23: Livello pienamente sufficiente. Il candidato raggiunge, in particolare, i risultati di apprendimento previsti ai punti “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione” e “applicazione di conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”;
- Da 24 a 26: Livello buono. Il candidato raggiunge i risultati di apprendimento previsti ai punti “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”, “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate” e “autonomia di giudizio”;
- Da 27 a 29: Livello molto buono. Il candidato raggiunge i risultati di apprendimento previsti ai punti “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”, “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate”, “autonomia di giudizio” e “abilità comunicative”
- 30: Livello elevato. Il candidato raggiunge pienamente i risultati di apprendimento previsti in tutti I punti
- 30 e lode: Livello eccellente. Il candidato raggiunge in maniera eccellente i risultati di apprendimento previsti in tutti i punti.

Indicazioni sui materiali di studio:

I due testi principali saranno presentati durante la prima lezione. Eventuali altri testi o dispense saranno messi a disposizione degli studenti nella pagina web dedicata al materiale didattico online.

Durante le lezioni saranno mostrate delle slides a sostegno.

Il programma è uguale per frequentanti e non frequentanti.

Il corso si articola in due parti affrontando i concetti fondamentali del turismo e il suo rapporto con il territorio e l’ambiente.

Il turismo e la geografia del turismo di Toschi (lineamenti teorico-concettuali e metodologici; forme e tipologie turistiche) 0,5 CFU; le quattro grandi periodizzazioni della storia del turismo 0,5 CFU; le motivazioni del turismo e i tipi di turismo con analisi critica 0,5 CFU; la circolazione turistica 0,5 CFU; la cartografia e le guide turistiche 0,5 CFU; i rapporti tra il turismo e gli altri fenomeni 0,5 CFU; il turismo passivo (i sistemi turistici locali, gli impatti delle attività turistiche sui sistemi ambientale e socio-economico, turismo sostenibile e turismo responsabile, strutture ricettive e flussi, aspetti e problemi) 0,5 CFU (con approfondimento 0,5 CFU); la statistica e la rappresentazione grafica e cartografica 0,5 CFU (con approfondimento 0,5 CFU); verso una nuova geografia del turismo 0,5 CFU; le teorie del turismo 0,5 CFU.

Il Grand Tour e l’odeporica 0,5 CFU; il vedutismo e i viaggiatori del ’700/’800 0,5 CFU; l’incontro con l’altro e l’altrove; il paesaggio turistico e la CEP 2000; il consumo di paesaggio e l’impatto sull’ambiente (es. Bagnoli, isole minori); le aree interne e la SNAI, la mobilità lenta 0,5 CFU; rottamazione e riqualificazione di paesaggi turistici; casi studio 0,5 CFU.

The course is structured starting from the book geography of tourism and addresses: The phenomenon of tourism from proto-tourism to global tourism; current tourism with subjects, territories, organization methods and criticality; the territorial patterns of tourist areas in Italy and in the world; the tourist landscape, its consumption and the scrapping-redevelopment initiatives.

It is divided into two parts:
- Basic concepts and the evolution of tourism
- The tourist landscape and the scrapping-redevelopment initiatives.

1. Knowledge and understanding - The student must demonstrate that he has sufficiently understood the topics of the program; will have to demonstrate that it has understood tourism and its relationship with the territory, the landscape and the principles of the 2000 CEP.

2. Applied knowledge and understanding -
Using cognitive tools and methods of investigating human geography, students will become aware of the role played by tourism-related activities: the different ways it is implemented; the evolution of economies in regional, national and international scales; the different scales of dynamics that are triggered in cultural and human landscapes; the dynamics imposed by the environmental balances.
The student must know the major tourist development areas on a global scale; the main preparatory territorial analysis methods for identifying landscapes which correspond to tourism development areas, arriving at identifying possible interventions aimed at rationalizing processes for environmental sustainability, with reference to the Italian and foreign geographical area (case studies).

3. Making judgements - The student must demonstrate that he is aware of his level of knowledge and skills.

4. Communication skills - The student must be able to adequately present what he has learned frontally and through participation in seminars, conferences on the subject covered by the discipline.

5. Learning skills: included and critically evaluated - The student must demonstrate that he has understood and evaluated critically: the tourist demand-supply ratio, the planning and development of tourism in certain areas, the environmental and economic sustainability of tourism in areas and territories concretely identified. The student must demonstrate that he has acquired all the knowledge necessary to undertake subsequent studies.

Main concepts of tourism and cultural heritage.

The course includes lectures (48 hours) subject to assessment in the classroom with tests or exercises.
Participation in conventions, conferences, seminars or educational excursions to be evaluated.

Frequency is recommended. In a limited number of lessons, scholars will be invited in order to stimulate collective discussions.

The lessons of the classroom program will partially deviate compared to the content of textbook.

Any additional or substitute material will be provided by the teachers during the course.

- if the number of students is > 10 there is a written test consisting of three open questions;
- if the number of students is < 10, an oral interview is scheduled divided into three (or more) questions on the subjects of teaching, to ascertain the level of knowledge achieved, to ascertain the level of knowledge achieved.

The level (obtained from the average grade of the tree modules) of overall student achievement and performance is assigned according to a numerical scale and considers the following criteria:
Below 18/30 mark: Fail. The student has not successfully achieved any of the course objectives;
- From 18 to 20: Fair achievement level. The student has only partially reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are narrowly aligned with the category of "knowledge and understanding";
- From 21 to 23: Sufficient achievement level. The student has acceptably reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are aligned with the categories of "knowledge and understanding" and "application of knowledge and understanding";
- 24 to 26: Good achievement level. The student has effectively reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are aligned with the categories of "knowledge and understanding", "application of knowledge and understanding" and "autonomy of judgement";
- From 27 to 29: Very good achievement level. The student has successively reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are fully aligned with the categories of "knowledge and understanding", "application of knowledge and understanding", "autonomy of judgement" and "communication skills" ;
- 30: Excellent achievement level. The student’s excellent performance has resulted in the full achievement of course objectives; the learning outcomes are aligned with all the categories;
- 30 cum laude: Outstanding achievement level. The student excels in the discipline, thus fully reaching all course objectives and mastering expected learning outcomes within all categories.

The two main texts will be presented during the first lesson. Any other texts or handouts identified during the course will be made available to students on the web page dedicated to online educational material.

During the lessons slides will be shown to support.

The program is the same for attending and non-attending students.

All students, attending and not attending, can contact the teacher via email for any clarification.

ERASMUS students are asked to contact the teacher to agree on the teaching methods and the assessment tests.

Facilitations will be provided for working students to be agreed with the teacher.

The course is divided into two parts, addressing the fundamental concepts of tourism and its relationship with the territory and the environment.

Tourism and the geography of Toschi tourism (theoretical-conceptual and methodological features, tourism forms and typologies) 0.5 CFU; the four major periodizations in the history of tourism 0.5 CFU; the motivations of tourism and the types of tourism with critical analysis 0.5 CFU; tourist circulation 0.5 CFU; the cartography and tourist guides 0.5 CFU; the relationships between tourism and other phenomena 0.5 CFU; passive tourism (local tourism systems, the impacts of tourism activities on environmental and socio-economic systems, sustainable tourism and responsible tourism, accommodation facilities and flows, aspects and problems) 0.5 CFU (with an increase of 0.5 CFU); the statistics and the graphical and cartographic representation 0.5 CFU (with a depth of 0.5 CFU); towards a new tourism geography 0.5 CFU; tourism theories 0.5 CFU.


Special part: (2 CFU)
