Prerequisiti | Si richiede una buona conoscenza di Storia e Storia dell’arte dal Medioevo al Contemporaneo. |
Metodologie didattiche | Il corso sarà basato prevalentemente su lezioni frontali. Assieme alla lettura e al commento di un saggio specialistico sulla storia del ritratto, denso di riferimenti a fonti storico-artistiche, sul quale ci si soffermerà per riflettere sulla metodologia utilizzata, verrà analizzata una serie di opere prodotte dal Medioevo al Contemporaneo. Gli studenti saranno costantemente sollecitati e verranno invitati, al termine del corso, a presentare in pubblico un’opera precedentemente scelta e concordata col docente, al fine di sviluppare capacità critica e divulgativa. Saranno inoltre previsti sopralluoghi al Palazzo Reale di Caserta e al Museo di Capodimonte. La frequenza è obbligatoria per almeno il 70% del totale delle ore. |

Contents | Sources and methods for the history of portraiture |

Course objectives | 1. Knowledge and understanding: knowledge and understanding of the historical evolution of the portrait between the 14th and the 20th centuries. |
Prerequisites | Basic notions of History and art History from the Middle Ages to the Contemporary Age. |
Teaching methods | The course will be based mainly on lectures. Together with the reading and commentary of a specialized essay on the history of portraiture, full of references to historical-artistic sources, on which the students will reflect on the methodology used, a series of works produced from the Middle ages to the Contemporary Age will be analyzed. Students will be constantly encouraged and invited, at the end of the course, to present in public a work previously chosen and agreed with the teacher, in order to develop critical and informative skills. There will be also visits to the Royal palace of Caserta and the Capodimonte Museum. |
