Contenuti | Il corso intende introdurre ai lineamenti essenziali della storia della letteratura greca, dalle origini al periodo ellenistico, con costante attenzione per i tempi, i luoghi, le occasioni, le forme di essa e l’uso, difforme a seconda dei generi letterari e dell’orizzonte cronologico, del mito. |

Programma del corso | Introduzione alle linee di sviluppo della letteratura greca dalle origini fino all’età ellenistica compresa, con particolare attenzione per lo sviluppo e le caratteristiche dei generi letterari e, tra di essi, all’epos omerico e alla questione della sua origine, profondità cronologica e trasmissione. |

Contents | The course aims to introduce to the essential elements of the history of Greek literature, from its origins to the Hellenistic period, with constant attention to the times, occasions and forms of Greek literature and of its use of myth. Particular attention will be paid to the development and characteristics of literary genres and, among them, to Homeric epos. More specifically, they will be investigated, the genesis and transmission of the poems, the oral tradition of epic poetry, the written composition of the Homeric poems and their circulation. The question of the possible reconstruction of a prehomeric literary history will be addressed and the testimonies on prehomeric literary forms will be analysed. At the same time, two books of Homer will be read (in Italian translation) and carefully commented during the lessons, which will allow further reflections: Odyssey, Books I and VIII. |
