Contenuti | L’insegnamento mira a perfezionare, attraverso un approccio specialistico, le conoscenze linguistiche, letterarie e filologiche acquisite dallo studente nel CdS triennale, con particolare riferimento alle modalità di trasmissione dei testi latini. A partire dall’esame di alcuni casi di studio specifici, saranno altresì richiamati le nozioni di recensio, emendatio, le tipologie di errori e il metodo stemmatico. In particolare, il corso sarà incentrato sulla lettura, la traduzione, l’esegesi critico-testuale, il commento linguistico, stilistico e storico-letterario di: |

Obiettivi formativi | 1. Conoscenza e comprensione: lo studente acquisirà le conoscenze utili all’analisi linguistica e storico-letteraria dei testi selezionati e alla discussione delle problematiche interpretative a essi connesse. |
Prerequisiti | Sufficiente conoscenza della lingua e della letteratura latina; sufficiente competenza nella lettura di un apparato critico; conoscenza dei principi fondamentali della critica del testo. |

Contents | The course aims to refine, through a specialized approach, the linguistic, literary, and philological knowledge acquired by the student during the 1st study cicle, with particular focus on the transmission methods of Latin texts. Starting from the examination of specific case studies, the concepts of recensio, emendatio, error types, and the stemmatic method will also be revisited. Specifically, the course will focus on the reading, translation, critical-textual exegesis, and linguistic, stylistic, and historical-literary commentary of: |

Course objectives | 1. Knowledge and understanding: the student will acquire the knowledge necessary for the linguistic and historical-literary analysis of the selected texts and for discussing the interpretative issues related to them. |
Prerequisites | Sufficient knowledge of Latin language and literature; sufficient competence in reading a critical apparatus; knowledge of the fundamentals of text criticism. |
Teaching methods | The course mainly consists of frontal lectures. Forms of student’s active participation and interaction will be promoted. |

Below 18/30 mark: Fail. The student has not successfully achieved any of the course objectives.
- From 18 to 20: Fair achievement level. The student has only partially reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are narrowly aligned with the category of “knowledge and understanding”.
- From 21 to 23: Sufficient achievement level. The student has acceptably reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are aligned with the categories of “knowledge and understanding” and "application of knowledge and understanding”.
- From 24 to 26: Good achievement level. The student has effectively reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are aligned with the categories of “knowledge and understanding”, “application of knowledge and understanding” and “autonomy of judgement”.
- From 27 to 29: Very good achievement level. The student has successively reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are fully aligned with the categories of “knowledge and understanding”, “application of knowledge and understanding”, “autonomy of judgement” and “communication skills”.
- 30: Excellent achievement level. The student’s excellent performance has resulted in the full achievement of course objectives; the learning outcomes are aligned with all the categories.
- 30 cum laude: Outstanding achievement level. The student excels in the discipline, thus fully reaching all course objectives. |
