    Contenuti

    Il programma d'insegnamento è diviso in macro argomenti che riguardano la storia dell’arte e la sua narrazione in lingua inglese:

    - Art History and Intercultural communication
    - Art Appreciation
    - The role of the artist
    - Artistic movements
    - Famous Museums
    - Art and Media: world wide web, social media, traditional media
    - Art and inclusive language
    - Multimodal Analysis of Adverts, Paintings, and websites;

    Si procederà allo studio dei macro argomenti attraverso le strategie di rielaborazione, sintesi e traduzione dei contenuti ai fini di facilitare l'acquisizione di una serie di abilità linguistiche fondamentali per continuare lo studio della lingua anche in altri ambiti di studio.

    Il programma, partendo dai contenuti culturali che riguardano l'insegnamento, metterà in risalto e tratterà in modo integrato l'utilizzo della lingua nelle sue caratteristiche funzionali, grammaticali e fonetiche.

    L'acquisizione dei contenuti è facilitata dal materiale didattico che consiste in:
    - Presentazioni PowerPoint disponibili sulla piattaforma E-learning;
    - Sintesi dei capitoli del libro.

    Obiettivi formativi

    Con riferimento ai descrittori di Dublino di seguito numerati, al termine del corso, lo studente devra’:
    1) conoscenza e capacità di comprensione
    - comprendere testi scritti, orali e digitali (livello B1 plus del QCER) relativi ad ambiti familiari e disciplinari;
    - comprendere elementi lessico-sintattici della lingua straniera;
    2) conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate
    - produrre testi scritti, orali (livello B1 plus del QCER) relativi ad ambiti familiari;
    - utilizzare elementi lessico-sintattici della lingua straniera;
    - applicare strategie per tradurre testi dall’inglese all’italiano, per analizzare ed interpretare opere e eventi d’arte
    3) autonomia di giudizio
    - comprendere il messaggio artistico nella sua forma scritta, orale e multimodale;
    4) abilità comunicative
    - descrivere e commentare in modo semplice ma chiaro e corretto in lingua straniera (livello B1 plus) il contenuto dei prodotti artistici in tutte le sue forme
    5) capacità di apprendere
    - sviluppare le conoscenze apprese in modo autonomo e auto-diretto.

    Prerequisiti

    Conoscenza della lingua straniera di livello almeno B1 del Quadro di riferimento Europeo (CEF); le 4 abilità linguistiche saranno studiate in modo integrato.

    Metodologie didattiche

    L1. Lezioni frontali: utilizzando il modello 'workshop'
    2. Laboratorio: supporto linguistico a sportello con lettore;
    3. ore in auto-apprendimento: con l'utilizzo della piattaforma e-learning.

    Metodi di valutazione

    L'insegnamento prevede una prova orale sul contenuto del corso. Si prefigge di accertare la capacità di esprimersi correttamente in lingua inglese; la conoscenza dei contenuti; la coerenza delle risposte, tenendo conto della completezza delle risposte.

    Il voto è attribuito in trentesimi in base alla seguente griglia:

    - Mancato superamento dell’esame: il candidato non raggiunge alcun obiettivo formativo;
    - Da 18 a 20: Livello appena sufficiente. Il candidato raggiunge solo i risultati previsti al punto “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”;
    - Da 21 a 23: Livello pienamente sufficiente. Il candidato raggiunge, in particolare, i risultati di apprendimento previsti ai punti “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione” e “applicazione di conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”;
    - Da 24 a 26: Livello buono. Il candidato raggiunge i risultati di apprendimento previsti ai punti “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”, “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate” e “autonomia di giudizio”;
    - Da 27 a 29: Livello molto buono. Il candidato raggiunge i risultati di apprendimento previsti ai punti “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione”, “conoscenza e capacità di comprensione applicate”, “autonomia di giudizio” e “abilità comunicative”
    - 30: Livello elevato. Il candidato raggiunge pienamente i risultati di apprendimento previsti in tutti I punti
    - 30 e lode: Livello eccellente. Il candidato raggiunge in maniera eccellente i risultati di apprendimento previsti in tutti i punti.

    Contents

    The teaching program is divided into macro topics concerning the English language and the world of Art:

    - Art History and Intercultural communication
    - Art Appreciation
    - The role of the artist
    - Artistic movements
    - Famous Museums
    - Art and Media: world wide web, social media, traditional media
    - Art and inclusive language
    - Multimodal Analysis of Adverts, Paintings, and websites;

    During the course, the study of macro topics will be conducted through methods of text re-elaboration, synthesis and translation. Course content will also be explored with the aim of facilitating the acquisition of a series of language skills required for further study in other professional fields.

    Starting from the cultural contents concerning the course, the program will regard the integrated use of the language with its functional, grammatical and phonetic characteristics.

    To facilitate the acquisition of knowledge regarding the course, other teaching materials, such as summaries of course chapters from the book and PowerPoint presentations, are available online on the E-learning Platform

    Reference to online grammars and dictionaries is highly suggested.

    Course objectives

    The course objectives are designed according to the Dublin descriptors and facilitate the acquisition of the following skills.
    1. Knowledge and understanding
    - Understanding written, oral and digital text (level B1 plus -CEF) concerning familiar and disciplinary fields;
    - Understanding lexical and syntactical elements of the foreign language;
    2. Applying knowledge and understanding
    - Produce written and oral texts (level B1 plus CEF) related to familiar fields;
    - Use lexical and syntactic elements of the foreign language;
    - Apply translation strategies from English into Italian; apply strategies to evaluate and interpret art products as well as art events;
    3. Making judgments
    - Understanding the message of written, oral and multimodal texts;
    4. Communication
    - Describe and comment on the content of texts and art products in all of its manifestations with accuracy and appropriacy in a foreign language (level B1 plus);
    5. Lifelong learning skills
    - Develop knowledge acquired through autonomous and self-directed learning;
    - Conduct individual research projects on the course topics.

    Prerequisites

    Level B1 English (see CEF); the use of all 4 skills is required.

    Lectures, lab sessions, seminars, conferences, autonomous learning on the e-learning platform.

    Evaluation methods

    Course Exam description
    Student evaluation is based on the application of oral assessment processes which reflect the level of course content attainment and the fulfillment of course requirements.
    Assessment Criteria
    The level of overall student achievement and performance is assigned according to a numerical scale and considers the following criteria:
    Below 18/30 mark: Fail. The student has not successfully achieved any of the course objectives;
    - From 18 to 20: Fair achievement level. The student has only partially reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are narrowly aligned with the category of "knowledge and understanding";
    - From 21 to 23: Sufficient achievement level. The student has acceptably reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are aligned with the categories of "knowledge and understanding" and "application of knowledge and understanding";
    - 24 to 26: Good achievement level. The student has effectively reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are aligned with the categories of "knowledge and understanding", "application of knowledge and understanding" and "autonomy of judgement";
    - From 27 to 29: Very good achievement level. The student has successively reached course objectives; the learning outcomes are fully aligned with the categories of "knowledge and understanding", "application of knowledge and understanding", "autonomy of judgement" and "communication skills" ;
    - 30: Excellent achievement level. The student’s excellent performance has resulted in the full achievement of course objectives; the learning outcomes are aligned with all the categories;
    - 30 cum laude: Outstanding achievement level. The student excels in the discipline, thus fully reaching all course objectives and mastering expected learning outcomes within all categories.
